A inverse operation is when you can cauculate your sum Correct eg.
    151+10=161
    161-10=151
    161-151=10

A operation is a sight like x,+,- and divide.i going to tell an example so
    3 + 80 = 83
    83 – 80 = 3
    83 – 80 = 3
Did you get it? the sign of this is – and+.

You can use inverse operations to check answers. The inverse of addition is subtraction however the inverse for subtraction is addition. The inverse operation of multiplying is division but the inverse operation for division is multiplying. If you want to find the correct answer for 20 add 4 which is twenty four you have to take away the twenty four and the four which is twenty and the twenty four take away twenty which is four.

Inverse operations are used for checking your answers. For example

    5+4=9
    9-4=5
    9-5=4

The opposite of addition is subtraction
The opposite of subtraction is addition
The opposite of multiplication is division
The opposite of division is multiplication

If you wanted to check the answer of 7+6=12 you would subtract 12 and 7 which will be 5 so that means you got the answer wrong.

  5.   Antony Says:

The inverse of + is -.
The inverse of x is divide.

    154+140=294
    294-140=154
    294-154=140

    These are the inverses.

Inverse operations is a signature that is-,+,x and divide .So adding is going forward so x,+ these are adding to+ .backward is – and divide the sight of takeaway is-

I know that the opposite of division is multiplication. The opposite of addition is subtraction. We have to know because it will help you to check your answer.

    142-4=138
    138+4=143
    143-138=4

    164-4=160
    160+4=164
    104-160=4

    136-5=131
    131+5=136
    136-131=5

    134+6=140
    140-6=134
    134-140=6

Well done for showing all these examples Rafaela. Could you maybe show some multiplying and division questions?

  10.   Jakeya Says:

A inverse operations is when like e.g.
    140-4=138
    138+4=143
    143-138=4
so what I just did now I took away two times but the middle one has a + sign because you can not have like three adding because it is not gowing to look great is it is just really, really not. Hear is a oter one that i’m writing
    134+6=140
    140-6=134
    134-140=6

    136-5=131
    131+5=136
    136-131=5

    164-4=160
    160+4=164
    104-160=4.

  11.   Ashviya Says:

We use a inverse operation do to check our answers in a different method. Inverse operation helps us through our life because if we were to get a question incorrect we would use our inverse operations to help us . For example 15+4=18 to check this question you will do 18-4=14 so it is wrong the answer is 19. This is why we use inverse operations in our life.
